Travel back in time to the dawn of electronic music with this unique retro app – a MIDI player preloaded with over 500 legendary CMI (Computer Musical Instrument) sounds.

The first faithful reissue of the classic CMI sounds from the 80s, immortalized by artists such as Alan Parsons, Jean Michel Jarre, Trevor Horn, Thomas Dolby, Brian Eno, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, and many others.

This app features a demo of the renowned ‘Page R’, which was the world's original screen-based rhythm sequencer. Every sampler, digital synthesizer, sequencer, and audio workstation today can trace its roots back to this iconic machine.

Now you can carry a piece of history in your pocket or on your iPad, developed by Peter Vogel and other music enthusiasts who worked on the Fairlight CMI in the 80s.

Built-in Features

Browse and play the complete original CMI IIX Sounds floppy disk library
564 voices imported digitally.
Play CMI voices from an external MIDI input (supports Core MIDI devices. Line6 MidiMobilizer II or Akai SynthStation require MidiBridge or similar), or use the on-screen keyboard
Visualize voices graphically using the iconic Page D and adjust your perspective by tilting your iPhone/iPad.
Play preloaded CMI Page R compositions or import and play compositions shared by others.
Authentic CMI user interface experience, including floppy disk idiosyncrasies.

Upgrade to the Pro Version

Enhance your experience by upgrading in-app to access “pro” features for an additional $39.99. The Vogel CMI Pro App includes CMI III voices, the capacity to compose 8-track songs using the Page R pattern sequencer, sampling your own voices from the microphone or line-in, and more.
